A personal trainer yesterday asked me what my USP (unique selling point) is!
How funny is that!?
As personal trainers and fitness coaches can we have different USP’s?
After all if the market (by “market” I mean us, the people) deep down wants to look good naked (or at least a little bit better than what it does at the moment) and healthier, why would anybody want to go and create a different USP? Just for the sake of being different?! Well, I can put my underpants over my trousers, walk down the street and be different but would this be better?! I don’t think so!
I will tell you what I think the truth is quite responsibly and I am sure some people won’t like it but i am ready to take the hit!
I think the fitness industry and therefore big chunk of fitness professionals are confusing USP’s with training methodologies.
We might have different methods but the USP should be the same- RESULTS!
After all, who cares what the methods are if the promise is strong and tempting! Obviously providing the methods do not harm you or have any negative impact on your health or well being!
DO NOT ASK TRAINERS IF THEY DO KETTLEBELLS OR VIPR, OR WEIGHT TRAINING OR BODY PUMP, OR IF RED MEAT IS GOOD OR BAD FOR THEM!
JUST TELL THE TRAINER WHAT YOU REALLY WANT AS AN END GOAL!
